• Elephant In The Room has provided a range of professional support and service to the Positive Partnerships project over the last 6 years. As a facilitator of workshops with the Somali community, Elephants In The Room continues to be instrumental in strengthening the knowledge and understanding of community about autism. Elephants In The Room has developed specific resources for the Somali community and other communities that they know will ‘cut through’ and connect, which is so important in the work Positive Partnerships does. Their passion and commitment to this work is commendable. As a project, we value Their sage, professional approach to working together.

  • Elephants In The Room’s insight and sensitive approach was crucial for our report on “African-Australian families detail allegations of bullying and racism at Melbourne school”. Their expertise ensured that we could accurately capture the perspectives of those directly impacted, providing a more comprehensive and authentic narrative. Without their guidance, we would have struggled to present these voices with the depth and sensitivity they deserve.

  • The team at Elephants In The Room gave a talk to my Year 12 Sociology class for a unit on ethnicity, the speaker shared her personal journey as a refugee. Her ability to connect with students through her engaging storytelling and the way she intertwined humour with challenging topics made the lecture both enlightening and enjoyable. Her openness and willingness to share her experiences of coming to Australia, including the barriers and enablers to social inclusion she encountered, provided students with a deeply personal and impactful understanding of the topic. She created a warm and inviting atmosphere by bringing in tea to share and cultural objects, which added an enriching sensory element to the talk. Students were captivated by her narrative and felt comfortable asking questions, thanks to her approachable demeanour. The experience was not only educational but also a memorable exploration of culture and personal story. I would highly recommend Elephants In The Room to anyone looking to provide students with a compelling and authentic perspective on race, ethnicity and culture.
